Beaches: The city of Durban is well-known
for the beautiful beaches with long stretches of golden sands and
the warm, balmy water of the Indian Ocean. The city beaches start
at Addington Beach and go on to Country Club Beach. More beautiful
beaches, fringed by lush subtropical vegetation, lie along the Hibiscus
Coast and Dolphin Coasts

The Golden Mile: This is the name
for the popular road that runs along the main beaches. It is lined
with entertainment venues and restaurants and is the hub of Durban's

Indian Sector: Durban has the largest
concentration of Indian (and people from Indian descent) in the country.
They are the descendants of Indian labourers that were brought in
to South Africa in the last century to work on the sugar plantations

easily include a visit to one of the region's many game parks as such
reserves are mostly easily accessable via very good roads. Game reservers
that offer a great wealth of animal and birlife are the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi
Game Reserve, Itala Game Reserve and Phinda Private Game Reserve.

Drakensberg Mountains: South Africa's
biggest mountain range is several hours of driving from Durban and
a must-see for any tourist. It was recently included as a World Heritage
Site due to its enormous significance as a natural and cultural monument.
The mountains contain thousands of examples of San rock art and there
are numerous resorts where one may enjoy a range of activities.

The Greater St Lucia Wetland Park:
Driving to St Lucia is the only way in which a visitor will be able
to see another of the country's World Heritage Sites. St. Lucia is
a breathtaking region of lakes, lagoons, wetlands and river and is
home to an amazing diversity of wildlife and birds. The region also
offers a haven to the endangered sea turtles who annually come to
the beaches to lay their eggs. Scuba divers also flock to the area
due to the amazing underwater variety
