Cape Town - "The Mother City"

Fantastic beaches: Cape Town's many
lovely beaches lie between five and 25 minutes from the city centre.
The beaches are pristine and sport soft, white sand, often stretching
on for miles. From the trendy and popular beaches of Clifton and Camps
Bay, to the further away beaches of Llandudno, Noordhoek and Bloubergstrand
and popular swimming beaches of Fish Hoek and Clovelly - all are within
easy driving range

V&A Waterfront: The Victoria
and Alfred Waterfront entertainment complex lies in the Cape Town
harbour. It is a scenic development of shops, cinemas, restaurants
and pubs, with great views across the ocean. It is from here that
ferries leave for the infamous Robben Island, a World Heritage Site,
where Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27
years

Cape Point: Approximately one hour
outside of the city of Cape Town, along excellent roads, lies the
dramatic Good Hope nature reserve with Cape Point - the southwesternmost
point of the African continent. The land juts out into a spectacular
peninsula with the highest sea cliffs in the world. There is a furnicular
and footpath leading up to the historic lighthouse from which stunning
views across False Bay may be enjoyed. There is also a restaurant
and curio shop

Boulders Beach: Named after the picturesque
boulders that grace the clear waters off the coast of historic Simon's
Town, the beach is known as a haven for about 3 000 endangered African
penguins. They are protected here as part of the Peninsula National
Park and visitors are able to come up close to them on specially constructed
boardwalks

Cape Winelands: Situated
only 30minutes outside of the city of Cape Town, is a region of rolling
green hills and lush vineyards, dotted with historic wine estates.
Visitors may choose from a number of wine routes in this scenic countryside
to visit the farms and taste world-class cultivars. The Winelands
is an excellent choice for a self-drive vacations as the roads to
all wine estates are superb and the farms lie fairly close together,
while the drive through the lovely countryside is utterly enchanting
