Franklin Game Reserve: Situated against
the slopes of Naval Hill, is the is the only game reserve in a city
centre in the country. It boasts animals like giraffe, eland, red
hartebeest, blesbok, wildebeest and springbok and visitors can see
them from an excellent road infrastructure

Beautiful buildings: Driving through
the city is a great way of seeing historic sandstone buildings, like
the ones in President Brand Street, which include the Court of Appeal,
Fourth Raadsaal, City Hall and the Supreme Court. The City Hall has
an unusual hall designed by Sir Gordon Leith

Kings Park: With over 4000 rose trees,
the park is one of the city's most attractive features. It was opened
in 1925 by the Prince of Wales.

Golden Gate Highlands National
Park: One of the most scenic reserves in the country, the Golden
Gate is situated only 300km from Bloemfontein via a superb road network
system. Here you will see beautiful sandstone mountain formations
as well as spectacular rock formations. The 10 710 hectare park features
grassy slopes with lovely wildflowers and is home to animals like
black wildebeest, eland, blesbok, springbok, Burchell's zebra as well
s birds like the bearded vulture, the black eagle. There are numerous
hiking trails through the mountaineous region. There are also numerous
caves in the sandstone rocks were the ancient San Bushmen have created
impressive rock art. During the Anglo-Boer War, Afrikaner families
hid from the British in these caves.
